Hot Cocoa

123 Hot Chocolate (6 servings)

6 cups cold milk
1 pkg.  (4-serving size) JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
6 Tbsp. thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

POUR milk into medium saucepan. Add dry pudding mix; beat with wire whisk 1 min.
BRING just to simmer on medium heat, stirring frequently with wire whisk.
POUR evenly into six mugs; top with whipped topping.

Hot Cocoa (9 servings)

1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup regular cocoa powder for cooking or baking (not instant cocoa mix)
1 - 1/2 cups water
4 - 1/2 cups
milk
1/4 tsp. vanilla (optional)

Combine sugar and cocoa in large saucepan. Add water. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 2 minutes. Add milk and heat to serving temperature; do not boil. Add vanilla and serve.

Hot Cocoa Variations:

Spiced Cocoa: Add 1/4 tsp. cinnamon and 1/8 tsp. nutmeg to cocoa-sugar mixture.

Orange Cocoa: Add 2 to 3 Tbsp. finely grated orange peel with milk.

Mocha Cocoa: Add 2 Tbsp,. instant coffee powder to cocoa-sugar mixture.

 

Hot Halloween Brew

3 cups boiling water
1 pkg (8 serving size) Orange Flavor Gelatin
1 qt. (4 cups) boiling apple juice
8 cinnamon sticks

Stir boiling water into dry gelatin in large bowl at least 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir in boiling apple juice.

Pour into 8 mugs.

Serve hot with cinnamon sticks.

 

Hot Spiced Apricot Drink

Try this great alternative to apple cider...  It will make the whole house smell good!

1 can apricot nectar (46 ounces

3 cups orange juice

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice

2 sticks cinnamon

2 whole cloves

In slow cooker, combine apricot nectar, orange juice, brown sugar and lemon juice.  Tie cinnamon and cloves in a small cheesecloth bag; add to juices in the slow cooker.  Cover and cook on low for 3 - 5 hours.  Serve hot from the crock pot. 

 

Warm Cider

4 Cups Fresh Apple Cider
1 teaspoon cinnamon (or one stick of cinnamon)

Gently warm Fresh Apple Cider and add cinnamon (more or less to your taste). Enjoy.
