Fresh Homemade Lemonade
- 6 cups Water
- 2 ½ cups raw sugar [or 2 cups mild honey] adjust amounts to your taste
- 2 ¼ cups fresh squeezed lemon juice [organic if available], strained to removed seeds & pulp [about 12 lemons]

If using honey, heat the water to hot. Remove from heat and add the honey, stirring until completely dissolved. Allow this to cool. Stir in the lemon juice. Pour into a serving pitcher and chill in the refrigerator until cold.
For a unique alternative:
Grate a 2" piece of peeled ginger root and simmer with the sugar for 10 minutes, partially covered. Strain into a large bowl then proceed as above.
