Substance Abuse Prevention

Grant Opportunity

The Marquette County Coalition for Substance Abuse and Violence Prevention is making available for local organizations up to $500.00 for Marquette County projects which focus on alcohol prevention education with parents and teens. Programming should address the Coalition's community goals and objectives that are included with this form. Enhancing parenting skills concerning alcohol prevention\drinking and driving or provide alternative activities which have an alcohol prevention educational component are preferred. Submit a letter no longer than three single pages. Proposals will be reviewed the second week of each month.

1. Name the lead organization, including contact, address, and phone.

2. Project description.

3. Goals and objectives of the project.

4. What would be involved.

5. Make a statement why applicant should be chosen.

6. Where the money will be spent.

7. Budget for the project.

8. Involve youth in the planning process if appropriate.

9. Identify a target group.

Eligibility:

1. Marquette County based programming.

2. Volunteer or community programs which have the capacity to carry out a project and provide a report which evaluates the activities of the project.

Grant Guidelines:

1. Any printed information developed cannot be copyrighted and must have the following byline printed on it. "This material was developed through a project funded by the Eastern Upper Peninsula Substance Abuse Services, the Marquette County Substance Abuse and Violence Prevention Coalition, and DSAQD.

2. No equipment may be purchased with these grants.

3. Costs charged to this grant cannot be charged to another program.

4. Vehicle mileage costs must be actual, based on the grantee's travel regulations (or those of the State of Michigan).

5. Documentation of all expenditures must be maintained for three years.
