Time to Quit -  A Stop Smoking Self-Help Program


Lunglogo.pcx (44433 bytes)What:  A free two hour program designed to give Marquette County residents tobacco cessation information which will lead to a more successful cessation attempt.  Topics include developing a plan of action, building motivation to stop, using nicotine patches or gum, staying off nicotine and ling term strategies, coping with relapse and barriers to stopping.

Why:  Tobacco use is the leading contributing cause of death in Marquette County and the United States, taking an average of eight years of life from every smoker.  Research also points out that most smokers want to stop smoking and many barriers prevent people from attempting to stop.  The Time to Quit program is designed to make participation and education on cessation strategies more accessible to people in Marquette County.

Where:  The Marquette County Health Department.  If you don't know where we are, check out our location link.

Who:  Anyone with a desire to stop smoking or using tobacco.  Trained facilitators from the American Lung Association will lead the program.

How:  Call (906) 315-2614, to register for the program.

When:  The second Wednesday of every month from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
